i’m glad the Martin Luther King, Jr. cared enough about the civil rights movement to encourage and speak to people about the importance of equality.
i’m glad that every day we’re moving further away from being a society that determines a persons worth by the color of their skin.
i’m thankful that Martin Luther King believed so much in what he was doing, he was willing to die for those beliefs.
it makes me think about the things i believe in, and whether or not i would actually be willing to give up my life for them. even just in the sense of giving more time, thought, or effort to them.
and i’m especially thankful that in honor of Mr. King, i don’t have to work on monday.
maybe i shouldn’t focus so much on that part…
